Central Baptist Church was
founded in March of 1963. Our missions program was first started on March 16th,
1966 when two missionaries were taken on for monthly financial support. The
flow of regular financial support of missionaries has been continuous and
uninterrupted for 34 years.
Brother Matthew Schumacher,
our current pastor, is our 13th pastor and was called as pastor June 2004.
Before being called as pastor, he served in Central Baptist Church as Youth
Pastor/Music Director. Our
former pastor Sonny McGuffee was called by God to serve in Monroe, La. We currently support 60
missionaries here and around the world.
At Central, we enjoy a
rich, long missions heritage. We fully intend to continue that tradition,
and expand it, until we are soon raptured.
